Shot in the Face! Benjamin was a stray cat that found his way to a barn in Parker where he was being fed. In April 2009, someone shot Benjamin in the face. Among his multiple injuries, a broken jaw was at the top of the list. Benjamin's owners could not afford the surgery needed to repair his jaw so he was surrendered to Animal Health Care Specialists. |

The orthopedic surgery was done by a specialist cost $700. In addition, a stomach feeding tube was placed in Benjamin's side since he was not able to eat on his own. He was cared for at the hospital for one month (normal hospitalization is $60 per night). After his month of critical care, Benjamin's stomach tube was removed. In August 2009, Benjamin's story caught the interest of local news channels and he was featured on television. Shortly after, Benjamin was adopted by a wonderful family. Benjamin fully recovered |
